ESPN sets up in LA!!
Broadcasts from ESPN's new west coast studios at L.A. Live are set to kick off on April 6, according to a massive display facing drivers on Figueroa. The facility will be home to the late-night Sportscenter broadcast, airing at 1am on the east coast and 10pm locally.
The network announced last month that anchors Neil Everett and Stan Verrett will be moving from Bristol, Conn., to L.A. to headline the broadcast, which will also replay from 6am - 9am on the east coast. The pair will be joined in the move by anchor Stuart Scott, who will work out of the Los Angeles bureau.
The facility includes two studios, one dedicated to Sportscenter, and two control rooms. Underneath the studio is the L.A. Live ESPN Zone, which will offer patrons a live view of what's going on in the studios above.

Follow Me.....
Sorry for the recent lack of updates....been enjoying a week of Spring Break freedom (is it bad that its easier for me to surf the net and update this when I have class and work to do?)...and I've also been experimenting with Twitter.
You can follow me at: http://twitter.com/j83out
It's kinda funny, the whole update on your every movement/limited character status type updates. A lot of people write it off as trivial (probably is) or an illegitimate source of media/entertainment/journalism whatever you want to call it. All of this can be said to be true. Another thing is the reality aspect...like with "reality" tv shows...if you know the camera is on you....how real are you really being? If you're taking a second to stop and tweet every few minutes...isn't that disrupting what you are actually supposed to be doing? Should we then be tweeting and twittering? I'm soo confused. That being said, it can be interesting, and a lot of the same things were said about facebook and myspace. When they first were getting popular, older generations and skeptics scoffed at the openness and lack of privacy...writing the new medium off as a youthful fad. Now, for better or worse, EVERYONE has a facebook and/or myspace page (including me, your mom, celebs, politicians, and everyone in between)...and the two sites are leaders in the networking/marketing/promotional/music/etc/etc/etc businesses. Sure maybe these formats are leading to a decline in journalistic integrity and general quality literature....but you have to enjoy it for what it is, instead of trying to compare it. Will true writers give up on books to tweet? I would hope not. But it is a source of greater information (relevant or not), and is simply the future (like it or not)...so you might as well get on board. Dunno how much sense I just made...went to bed at 5 and was up at 9 to watch the Tourney....Madness has set in...enjoy.

Ciara ft. Justin Timberlake - Love Sex Magic
If you haven't heard it already on Power, then check out Ciara ft. Justin Timberlake - Love Sex Magic. Then go BUY the single!!!
Here's a review of the song:
Oh ya, and one of my boyz from Orville Wright is a member of the aforementioned Ys who created this track. Dude is doing BIG things and I'm really happy for him! If you get a chance....take a peak into the mind of a creative genius and follow him! Ill prolly do a separate post on him soon too.
Here's a review of the song:
Since the lead single was a smoldering slow jam, listeners likely expect a follow-up that will set fire to dance floors nationwide, and on that count Love Sex Magic doesn’t disappoint...Backed by The Y’s’ midtempo electro-funk production, Love Sex Magic is sure to set sparks flying when it hits the clubs, paving the way for Fantasy Ride‘s arrival in stores this April.

Lance Armstrong’s latest team-up with Nike Sportswear has dominated the headlines in the last few days ranging from the KAWS designed TREK Madone and the footwear offerings. Introducing Kogi - Twitter for Dinner?
I learned about Kogi a week or two ago. The basic concept is that Kogi is a Korean BBQ taco truck that has gained massive popularity in LA for tasty food at very low prices....I think like $2 a taco. But what's really got this taco truck goin is that it posts its locations on twitter. It now has almost 8,000 followers. They have also opened up an actual location in Culver City...I'll have to check it out soon.
Here's the KOGI Twitter
"In many ways, Kogi's rapid rise reflects the same cultural moment that produced Barack Obama; youthful, urban, multiethnic, wired and communal, both brands resonate with a grassroots generation that distrusts top-down messaging and prefers to learn from peers, often online. The question now is whether L.A.'s Twitter-fueled Korean taco truck is merely a fad (more like, say, Howard Dean)—or, as the Kogi copycats are hoping, a model for the future of fast food." -

K'Naan - Troubador
When I first heard the single If Rap Gets Jealous it definitely caught my attention, but I wasn't sure if I liked it. I had to listen to it a few times, and it grew on me. After checking out a few other tracks and hearing good things about this cd, I decided to buy it. And I'm really glad I did, because it has been excellent! Dope funky beats with an African infuence mixed with a different sounding yet smooth flow, and each song has a very different flavor.
Read the bio on K'NAAN
I was gonna talk about some of the tracks I like (Waivin' Flag, Take a Minute, Somalia, People Like Me, Bang Bang feat. Maroon 5's Adam Levine, America feat. Mos Def and Charli 2na, Dreamer, etc. etc. etc.), but to be honest I would have to touch on all of them since they are all pretty unique, and I'm far too lazy to do that, so just trust me and buy the album for yourself. Plus it was 16 tracks + video for only $7.99 on iTunes today...quite the deal.

NFL in LA?
You've heard this many times before, but at least we had a step in the right direction towards getting the NFL back in Los Angeles.
--
In a 5-0 vote, the city accepted an environmental plan for an $800million professional football stadium proposed by Majestic Realty President and billionaire Ed Roski, Jr.
The privately funded stadium will be near the intersection of the 57 and 60 freeways and has so far received strong regional support. But there has also been opposition from Diamond Bar and Walnut, whose residents are concerned about traffic, noise and pollution impacts.
Officials can start negotiating with football teams as early as next month, said Majestic Realty Vice President John Semcken. But Semcken acknowledged that lawsuit threats posed by Walnut and Diamond Bar could delay the project. More here
Check out the design and more info about the stadium here.
